About Me

A little about me!

My name is Nadine, and I have completed my first year of Learning Disability Nursing studies and I have been working with people with learning disabilities for 6 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and I have often wondered why those with learning disabilities are still often segregated and not often given much thought, or funding, from the government. So. in my path to changing this, here I am a learning disabilities nursing student!

I'm passionate about the field in which I work and study. I am committed to promoting the needs and wants of those people with learning disabilities. I believe everyone has the right to be treat equally and I want to publicise the need in the NHS for more health care professionals to be trained in working with people with Learning Disabilities. My blog is just the beginning :D

I actively follow and tweet on Twitter to keep up to date with all things NHS and Learning Disabilities.
I will occasionally tweet stuff about my pets (who are my babies) as I love animals. And I hate how animals are often left behind as an after thought. (and unfortunately I have seen families do this with those with learning disabilities)

I am in my late twenties (!) and I already have 1 degree in English Literature.
I changed my mind part way through my degree on my career path and I have never looked back!
I have recently been featured as a guest blogger on the BMJ Blog website, you can take a look here.

So please don't hesitate to contact me (details on the other page).
And best of luck with all your future endeavours!
